Frederick Otis and wife [18 August 2009]

Hi,

Your family ties into my relatives through Frederick Otis and his wife. I've done a bit of merging to clean up the connection, but I've come across an issue where I feel I need to explain my actions to you. WeRelate has a policy not to include Living People. Frederick Otis' wife is still living, so I am changing her name to "Living Shearer", removing her birthdate, and changing the marriage page to "Frederick Otis and Living Shearer". I realize that identity theft from genealogy data is unlikely, but would prefer to err on the side of safety.

WeRelate is considering methods to allow entry of living people into a private section, which would link into the main wiki, but methods to permit this capability is still under discussion.
