WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors. Now that you have uploaded underhill Family Tree.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it. Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier. [add comment] [edit] An Important question [23 April 2016]Hi, I am an administrator with WeRelate and I am currently looking at ways to make the GEDCOM uploading experience better. I noticed you recently uploaded a GEDCOM, can I ask you if you read the help pages and FAQ's about the upload process, especially the preparing your GEDCOM for upload steps? If you did not read or do the things suggested would you mind telling me why not, it will help to make the process better if I can understand where we may be failing. My recommendation would be to test the working of WeRelate by first trying a small GEDCOM, perhaps 50 people, say the ancestors and spouses of one of your grandparents or great-grandparents. [add comment] [edit] Gedcom Review [27 April 2016]Hi, I see you finally got a gedcom that could be imported though there is one problem. You have excluded all the family pages, without the family pages there will be no links between any of the people, instead of a tree you will have a list of unconnected people and none of the marriage details will be imported. Another problem that may occur is our patrolers tend to delete unattached pages. You may want to reconsider this action. I am returning the file to your review so you can correct this then you can request import again.
