Duplicate families [18 December 2011]

Hi Teltalheart,

When you have a moment, please take a look at your Duplicates List by going to My Relate>Show Duplicates. It’s a good idea to check this list on a regular basis. There are a few families there that are potential matches. We have an ongoing site-wide project to merge duplicates, but it is always better if somebody familiar with the families can make the merge. Here is our help page on merging. If you have any questions, just let me know. Thanks! --Jennifer (JBS66) 06:42, 18 December 2011 (EST)

Connect with another Researcher [6 February 2015]

I noticed that you are researching the surname Jackson. If you have not already connected with JanieJac, you might want to. She has spent years compiling trees of various Jackson families in the U.S. and I helped her upload her data into WeRelate a few years ago. If nothing else, I'm sure she'd appreciate a Hello.--DataAnalyst 23:08, 6 February 2015 (UTC)

Duplicate Margaret McClung's created [30 December 2015]

Hello, I noticed that you've created a duplicate person of Margaret "Peggy" McClung, who married Robert Tate (1755-1832), attached to a different Robert Tate (1745-1806) of Augusta and Russell County, Virginia. Obviously, the same Margaret McClung could NOT have married two different Robert Tate's at the same time, and your "other" Margaret (you call her Mary), is in conflict with Margaret's Find-A-Grave Page and also William McClung's "The McClung Genealogy: a genealogical and biographical record of the McClung family from the time of their emigration to the year 1904".

Unless you have proven sources to show that there was 1) another Margaret (Mary) McClung with exactly the same birthdate as the other, there appears to be little evidence to support this contention.

If you have sources that you'd like to share, please feel free to post them on the appropriate Person Talk Pages.

Thanks:)

FYI - I have moved the conversation regarding your "Mary" Margaret McClung to her Talk Page, where these types of discussions are supposed to take place. Please add your source information to this page so we can resolve the disagreement with facts and sources and not opinion.

Thank you:)

I got your message on my Talk Page and have looked at the Sons of the Revolution Application you linked. If you look at the Family of Robert Tate and Margaret McClung on WeRelate, it agrees with this information, so I'm confused as to why you're arguing with me regarding a DIFFERENT Mary, who was the wife of a DIFFERENT Robert Tate... Do you understand what I'm trying to explain to you?

Please advise.

Thanks,

Jim

Unmerging duplicate pages with identical information [1 August 2017]

You just unmerged two families, Family:Henry Scarborough and Mary Humberstone (1) and Family:Henry Scarburgh and Mary Humberstone (1) with the comment "Not the same". A comparison of the two pages shows very little difference, and the differences are accounted for in Person:Edmund Scarborough (3) as variant spellings or alternate dates. Could you please provide an explanation, along with source citations, as to why these two pages are not the same?

By the way, I am posting this question here, on your talk page, rather than on the talk pages of the above families where it would normally be posted, since you are not watching any of the pages involved.--GayelKnott 14:36, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
