Oscar Clayton [17 August 2020]

There are two places named Newchurch in Lancashire. Without looking up more databases, I think the other is now in one of the boroughs of Greater Manchester.

Please check your sources to see if I chose the right one. If you were depending on censuses, check the registration district that goes with the "Newchurch" you were thinking it might be.

I was clarifying Newchurch in Pendle residents when I made the change. Regards, --Goldenoldie 08:27, 17 August 2020 (UTC)

In the 1901 census Oscar lives in Schofieled St., Rawtenstall (formaly newchurch) close to Waterfoot which I remember my mother talking about and was his fathers address on the marriage certificate. His Farther James was a blacksmith as was his grandfather Joseph who lived next door. Newchurch in Pendle appears to be a church some distance to the north. I don't remember why I chose Newchurch, probably thinking of adding earlier stuff for which the previous name might be more meaningful. So I think nothing or Rawtenstall would be better for Oscars birth place.

William Bradley Amoore [27 October 2020]

Hello Paul (I assume this is your name)

I had previously found the 1891 census record you refer to, however I have not cleaned up my WeRelate entries which are now long overdue.

Hannah Amoore was William's wife (nee Baker) Ellen Simmonds was William's widowed sister (Catherine Ellen Amoore) Margaret Lloyd Rendell (nee Amoore) was also William's widowed sister and Henry Rendell Amoore was William's youngest son.

I am assuming that you are possibly related to Henry Rendell (Jnr) and Margaret Lloyd (nee Amoore) through their only son Robert Fermor Rendell.

I am related to William and Margaret through their brother Albert Hastings Amoore and his wife Harriett Margaretta Rendell (Henry's brother)

I have recently been doing some research on Henry and Harriett's mother Carolyn Sydney Jacobson Rendell (nee Lott) who seems to have had an interesting life story which I am trying to put together.

If you are interested in what I have found could we please communicate directly by email instead of thru WeRelate.

My email is kenamoore@optusnet.com.au
