Next step: Review your GEDCOM [20 October 2011]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Johannes Cornelis de Leur.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Johannes Cornelis de Leur.ged [20 October 2011]

Thank you for submitting your gedcom file to WeRelate. I have reviewed the file and there are a few edits that I'll need you to make before I can complete the import. For each of the names below, please go to the People tab in the gedcom review, click Edit, press the Add alternate name link, and move the alternate name spellings to a new line. Each page title should have only First name and Last name. Alternate spellings will display elsewhere on the page. On the People tab, you can sort by name by clicking on the Name column header. That should make it easier for you to find the people below.

  • Cats, Catz, Johannes Jacob
  • de Bruin, de Bruijn, Sophia
  • de Leur, Cornelia, Cornelia Margaretha
  • de Leur, Johannes, Jan
  • de Rooder. de Roder, Adrianus

Source [25 October 2012]

Hello Koch and de leur, I noticed that you are adding source information into the event Description field. This information really belongs in a Source text field. One reason is because it takes up a lot of extra room in the Facts and Events section. More importantly, the Source fields are meant to contain information relevant to an event's source whereas the event description is meant to just provide brief details (like name of a hospital, or age at death, etc). I edited Family:Gijsbertus Hasenbos and Cornelia Clemens (1) as an example. If you have any questions, just let me know. Regards, --Jennifer (JBS66) 14:49, 25 October 2012 (EDT)

Elizabeth Magdalena van Oort [30 October 2012]

My name is Louise Koster.

Elizabeth Magdalena van Oort was my great grandmother and she was married to Georg Stötter on 05-11-1896. Elizabeth Magdalena van Oort's date of birth was 15-08-1868 in Amsterdam The Netherlands. Georg Stötter's date of birth was 01-07-1872 in Günzburg Germany. He died on 20-01-1911 in Venray the Netherlands.

Together they had 3 children: 1. Joseph Georg Stötter date of birth 13-12-1896, he died 31-07-1976 both in Amsterdam. He was my grandfather.He married my grandmother Willemina Weers date of birth 30-04-1899, she died on 31-07-1974 in Amsterdam. They had 2 daugthers.

2. Jeanette Maria Elisabeth Walburga Stötter date of birth 23-08-1901 in Amsterdam. She migrated to New York and arrived there on 17-12-1922 with the ship named "Rijndam" from Amsterdam the Netherlands. The name of her future husband was Hans van der Meer, also born in Amsterdam the Netherlands. He arrived in New York on 08-08-1907 with the ship named "Petersburg" from Rotterdam the Netherlands. Marie Stötter had a ticket to "final destination". Upon arrival she owned $ 35,--

3. Magdalena Elisabeth Stötter date of birth 26-04-1904, she died of tuberculoses on 07-03-1929 in Amsterdam the Netherlands.

Please could you explain your interest in above mentioned people. I am puzzled about the relationship since your names being Koch and De leur. Obviously, I am quite interested hearing from you since we might even (distantly) related. For your information I have been actively researching my anchestry since over 25 years and consequently I have collected a wealth of information.

I would very much appreciate hearing from you Kind regards--Louise14 16:37, 30 October 2012 (EDT)

Living people [21 April 2013]

Hi, I noticed that you have created pages for people who are likely still living (for example: this person). WeRelate's policy does not allow the creation of pages for living people due to privacy concerns. You will need to delete your Person and Family pages for living people by clicking on More>Delete from the menu on the left of each page. You can use templates such as Template:Pedigree4 to connect family lines using a chart on your User page. You can see an example of this template here. Thank you, --Jennifer (JBS66) 17:00, 21 April 2013 (EDT)

Barto [9 February 2016]

You have a page on Simon Leendert Barto born 6 June 1882, married Anna Maria Huibertina Heger on 5 April 1904 in Venlo. You have 1 child, Wilhelm Arie Barto

There was a prior child, Arie Wilhelm, born before the marriage. The child was legally acknowledged on 16 Oct 1903. The date of birth remains unclear but is probably not too different. This information is in the marriage akte:

Regionaal Historisch Centrum Limburg
Toegang = 12.120
Inventarisnummer = 104

Arie Wilhelm married Anna Hinten, daughter of Cornelis Johannes Hinten & Johanna Willemina Sleeuwenhoek, at Dordrecht on 9 Feb 1926.

The younger brother Wilhelm Arie was born at Venlo on 15 Feb 1905; akte BS Geboorten Venlo 1905 nr 80. Wilhelm Arie married Neeltje de Heer, born Dordrecht about 1905, d/o Jasper de Heer and Fransijntje Bos at Dordrecht on 5 July 1928; BS Huw Dordrecht 1928 no 249. Neeltje was 23 years old as was Wilhelm.

I connect because Simon Leendert was my great-uncle, brother of my grandfather Arie Barto.

I am curious to know what became of Simon and Anna Maria, and what the story was.

I became a member of this Wiki in order to enter this information, but on opening the form I see no way to do that, so do with it what you want. If you wish you can email me, dekock at ihug dot co dot nz .
