Living people [24 July 2013]

Hello. I am a volunteer administrator at WeRelate. You probably just received a number of emails indicating I had edited your pages to request that you delete them because they are about living people. I noticed that this seems to be a problem throughout your database. I won't be marking the rest of your pages at this time, but please delete all pages that are about people who are born after 1903 and for whom you do not have a death date.

Could you also please let me know how you entered all of these pages? By hand or by gedcom? There should be prohibitions and warnings for each process, and it would be helpful to know why so many pages slipped through. Thank you. --Amelia 02:01, 24 July 2013 (EDT)

Julia - responding here so you're sure to see it: I didn't send the emails, the system did - indicating that I had flagged the page for attention. In the normal course of things, the pages I flagged will be reviewed by the Speedy Delete committee and deleted in two weeks. But since you know they are living, you should delete them yourself as soon as possible (use the "more" menu on the left side of the page, delete should be one of the options for your own pages). And I did not mark the many other pages you created, so you'll need to find and delete those yourself. Thanks, --Amelia 13:26, 24 July 2013 (EDT)
