Ferree Fsmily First Four Project [19 October 2009]

Hello,

My name is Charles Heisterkamp (kamp3genealogy@netscape.net). I note that we share an interest in members of the Blackburn family. I have placed the first FIVE generations of the Ferree family in America on WeRelate. I hope to improve the primary documentation through a cooperative effort to locate wills, land records, etc. As you are probably aware, the Blackburn have intermarried with Ferrees. I have a large number of Blackburn family on my main Ferree data base and would be happy to exchange information, if you are interested. Have a great day. Campbell family [18 January 2011]

Hello Jonjay, I am looking for information about Matthew Campbell, born about 1776 in Cumberland Co., PA, the son of Hercules Campbell and Jane Means. He married Susanna Stull of Woodsboro,Frederick Co., MD on 19 Dec. 1795. Do you have any information about this family? Thank you for considering this request. Joe Doyle--Josdoyle 19:43, 6 November 2009 (EST)

I have an Elizabeth Campbell in my line but she is listed as being born in VA but moved to Bellefontaine OH where she married Wm Clagg they lived many years in Clinton IL seem to be a fair number of Campbell lines so hard to tell just where she may fit in Richard Lauring trumandrug@yahoo.com--Rlauring 13:00, 18 January 2011 (EST)

Margaret Francisco m Burr Huss [12 January 2010]

We have a connection in a tree I have not yet uploaded. This Margaret Francisco who married Burr Huss is the daughter of James Richard Francisco and Fannie Maria Grover. Margaret's father was brother to my Maria Jane Francisco.

You may already have the upline for Margaret. If not, let me know. I should be able to help with this.

Jacob Stull [8 March 2010]

Jacob Stull was my g-g-grandfather. I have his death date and some other info if you would like to exchange.--Sscook62 17:27, 8 March 2010 (EST)

Stull [9 March 2010]

My g-g-grandfather, Jacob Samuel Stull, was the son of Henry and Magdalena Stull. He was born on April 12, 1839, in PA, and died on March 14, 1924 in Rouzerville, Franklin Co., PA. He is buried at Price's Church Cemetery in Waynesboro, Franklin Co., PA.

From your info, I am assuming you are a descendent of Jacob and Susan Spielman, his first wife. Susan was the daughter of David and Nancy Spielman. She was born abt. 1842 in MD and died bet. 1876-1880. She is also buried at Price's Church Cemetery.

Jacob and Susanna were married on Aug. 26, 1860 and their children were:

Anna E. Stull, b. Sept. 14, 1862, in PA, d. Nov. 7, 1930, in Waynesboro, buried at Burns Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro. She married Alexander Hamilton Snider.

Joseph H. Stull, b. Sept. 7, 1868, in Rouzerville, d. Jan 18, 1930, in Waynesboro, buried at Price's Church Cemetery. He married Ida Singer.

David Lester Stull, b. abt. 1868, d. 1897, buried at Price's Church.

Martha Catherine Stull, b. July 1869 in Rouzerville, d. Dec. 15, 1936, in Rouzerville, buried at Price's Church. (Sometimes she is called Margaret.) She married W. H. (Harry) Harrison.

George Washington Stull, b. 1872 in Rouzerville, d. Dec. 1859, buried in Baltimore, MD.

Minnie Stull, b. abt. 1877 in PA. In the 1880 census, she is living with her grandparents. I am assuming this has something to do with her mother's death shortly after her birth.

Jacob married Christiana Hoover of Washington Co., MD, on Oct. 20, 1878, and I am descended from one of their children. I also info on them, but it is quite lengthy and would take forever to type here. If you are interested in them, maybe we can figure out another way to exchange info.

Hope I helped fill in some holes.--Sscook62 07:27, 9 March 2010 (EST)

Jacob Burgoon, 1806-1881 [13 September 2010]

Jacob Burgoon, ref. above and my great-great grandfather, was born in Baltimore County, Maryland, not in Germany, at least according to family tradition. You will have noticed that his father, Robert Burgoon, was born in Maryland and that his father, Jacques (Jacob) Burgoon was born in France and emigrated to the Maryland Colony. Not sure how "Germany" entered the picture, but I am convinced it is an error.--Steptyner 14:29, 13 September 2010 (EDT)

Jacob Burgoon (1806-1881), Comment #2 [13 September 2010]

This is not the same person as Jacob Burgoon, son of Charles Burgoon and Barbara Hampshire (Hamscher/Hamsher), but was the son of Robert Burgoon and Leah Diffey. The Jacob who was the son of Charles and Barbara was born on 15DEC1831, probably in Hocking Co., OH, and died as a soldier in Company F, 58th Ohio Volunteer Infantry at Vicksburg, MS, on 18DEC1863.--Steptyner 14:37, 13 September 2010 (EDT)

Charles Burgoon, son (?) of Charles Burgoon & Barbara Hampshire [13 September 2010]

As nearly as I can tell, Charles Burgoon and Barbara Hampshire never had a son named Charles, and certainly could not have had a son with the same birth and death dates as his own father!--Steptyner 14:47, 13 September 2010 (EDT)

Jonjay, I was helping my father search for information about his grandfather, Joy Donnell. I came across this website. My dad is the only surviving member of the Floyd Donnell family. I can help update that family's information. What we were searching for was the burial sites of Joy Donnell's mother and father. Can you advise me of a way I can search this information.

Hirzel Tree [7 December 2011]

Alexander Hirzel is my wife's great grandfather. I have uploaded 400+ profiles of his descendants to Geni.com, http://www.geni.com/people/Alexander-Hirzel/6000000010878653788 , which I am in the process of uploading to werelate.org.

Elizabeth Ann Krob my wife → Alfred Connell Krob her father → Elise Hirzel his mother → Alexander Hirzel her father

I have a booklet prepared by Otto and Emil Hirzel for the Alexander Hirzel-Studer Family Reunion around 1958 if you are interested. The family history includes six generations of Alexander Hirzel's ancestors, which I am also uploading to werelate.org.

Alexander Hirzel (1849-1931) → Christopher Hirzel (1785-1853) his father → Benedict Hirzel, III (1747-1802) his father → Benedict Hurtzel, II (1715-1748) his father → Benedict Hurtzel (1668) his father → Heinrich Hurtzel (1608-1696) his father → Hans Hurtzel his father

Please let me know if you are interested and if I can be helpful.

Schlupps and Dardingers [10 December 2012]

I just found WeRelate.org today and started a stub of a tree on my Dardinger Family. The immigrant family was Stephen Dardinger and Anna Marie Schlup who came from Switzerland in 1958 with their three older children, Jacob, Mary Ann and Ferdinand and settled first in Licking County, Ohio and later in Hardin County, Ohio. While I appear to be the first researcher here of Dardingers, it seems that there are quite a lot of Schlup / Schlupp / Schluep / etc. families here. I'm wondering if we ever exchanged info elsewhere since I seem to remember seeing the Jonjay name before. Anyway I'm hoping this may be a good place to try working out the exact connections of the Dardingers and the Schlupps. Meanwhile I'll start looking for info I don't already have and hopefully adding some info I have others here don't.

Michael Roush & Mary Remer [11 March 2015]

I would love to help you with this family. You are missing several children. One is my 2nd great grandmother Emma (Roush) Jones Jenson. You are also missing her sister Catherine. I have been researching family history for over 42 years and was the director of a branch of the LDS Family History Library for many years. I have a lot of Michael's ancestry. Mary came from Pennsylvania but I don't have much on her family. I do have their death records and know where they are buried. I do have a photo of Mary. (There was a photo of her and Michael together but the only copy of it that I have seen is very blurry. I am still trying to track it down.) Susannah Hite [3 August 2022]

Fixed many errors of Alexander Hite, added Elizabeth as mother of Susannah

Alexander Hite was naturalized with his father in 1769, his father was Jacob Hite (woolcomber), and both were born outside the British Crown. This makes him not the son of Jacob Hite (son of Jost Hite) who was born in PA.

DNA tests prove that Alexander Hite is not related to the line of Jost Hite. The Hite Family Association has published articles on this line and is on their website. Alexander Hite's father is listed in articles as the "Other Jacob Hite".

From Strasburg Lutheran German records, 1768-1829, Strasburg, Virginia, written by George M. Smith and Klaus Wust, Edinburg, Virginia: Shenandoah History Publishers, 1997, page 28 we know that the four children Maria, Frederick, Susannah, and Jacob were baptized and the mother's name was Elizabeth.

Shenandoah County, VA Deed Book C page 7, Alexander Hite and Elizabeth Hite witness a deed, 3 Feb 1777.

Simon Harr, a minister, and schoolteacher married Alexander Hite and Catherine Hiegburger on 12 Mar 1781, in Strasburg, Shenandoah, VA; this proves that Catherine Nieburger was not the mother of the first four children.

Additional Abraham Hite was removed as a child of Alexander. He is not listed in the Baptism Records or the will of Alexander--Ltccoleman 20:27, 3 August 2022 (UTC)

William M Whaley [29 January 2024]

I've been working on the Whaley's for a War 1812 application for a client. His description in WeRelate states he was in the Mexican War and gives the dates. I believe these dates refer to the War 1812, not the Mexican War. His son, William M Whaley Jr. may be the one who was in the Mexican War.

I think this is something that needs to be corrected. Not sure who wrote his bio.

Thanks, Pam Pollard Txbluebell6--Txbluebell6 20:31, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
