Hallo Fred,

ziet er goed uit, maar voorlopig ga ik even verder met rodovid. Ben bezig mijn heritageboom te zuiveren van alle beginners fouten e.d. Als ik tijd en zin heb begin ik dan met Werelate.Maar het is een zeer interessante optie. Als ik klaar ben met Myheritageboom heb ik, hoop, een beetje zuivere gedcom bestand te hebben.Gr Herman. --Herman34 15:39, 4 May 2010 (EDT)

Ze hebben beide het bezwaar dat er een dictator monopolist de baas is en niet een eigenlijke wiki, waar alle gebruikers samen democratisch de baas zijn en het beleid bepalen ! In elk geval zijn ze allebei onvergelijkbaar veel beter dan het commerciële familieband. Familypedia is een echt democratische genealogie wiki, met de meest actuele software versie 15, terwijl Rodovid versie 9 heeft en WeRelate versie 7. Toch heeft WeRelate wel genealogische eigenschappen en controles, terwijl Rodovid en Familypedia die niet hebben, ook kent Familypedia de gedcom upload niet. Daarom is ondanks de minste wiki-versie, toch WeRelate als genealogiesite de beste van de Wiki sites !--Regards, Fred Bergman 16:28, 4 May 2010 (EDT)

Levende personen [5 mrt 2011]

Hallo Herman, ik zie, dat je ook gegevens over levende personen hebt opgenomen in WeRelate. De huisregels zijn op dit gebied echter heel duidelijk: pagina'a met nog levende personen zijn niet toegestaan en worden, wanneer de deelnemer die niet zelf verwijdert, door een admin verwijderd. Over regels kan je altijd strijden, maar deze regel is ook een bescherming voor eventuele klachten over privacy etc. Als vuistregel gelden als levend alle personen die in de laatste 110 jaar geboren zijn, en waarvan geen overlijdensdatum bekend ofwel ingevuld is. Ik schrijf dit, om onaangename verrassingen te voorkomen, niet dat plotseling pagina's verwijderd worden, zonder dat jezelf de mogelijkheid hebt gekregen dit in eigen regie te regelen. Er worden geen uitzonderingen gemaakt! Het is vanzelfsprekend wel geoorloofd op je User page een tekst over jezelf te publiceren.--Klaas (Ekjansen) 07:09, 5 March 2011 (EST)

Adding families [7 mrt 2011]

Hallo Herman, I see you have made a few versions of the Albert van den Akker and Wiepkje Dijkstra family... :-)

I find the easiest way to add a new family (and both spouses) is this:

1. Go to Add>Family and fill in the Husband & Wife information. Click Add page
2. From this Family Page click Find/Add next to the empty Husband box - a new page will open, add the basic information for the husband on this screen. Press the Find/Add page button
3. Now you are back on the Family page. Click find/add next to the empty wife box. add the basic information for the wife on this screen. Press the Find/Add page button
4. When you are back on the Family page, both the Husband and Wife will now be filled in. You can enter the marriage information and save the page.

Deleting pages [11 March 2011]

Each family needs its own separate Family page. For example: Family:Meindert van den Akker and Grietje Brunia (1) and Family:Meindert van den Akker and Antje van der Werf (1). If you look now at Meindert's page from the edit screen you will see two families listed under Spouse and Children family group page. The titles for each of Meindert's families are listed here. Source for marriage [8 apr 2011]

Herman, I want to offer a small suggestion about marriage sources. Generally, the source for a marriage is attached to the marriage event on the Family page, for example: Family:Feite Hofman and Pierkje van den Akker (1). Renaming person pages [16 mei 2011]

Pages for Unknown spouse [19 mei 2011]

Hallo Herman, I renamed a couple of your pages to replace Unknow with Unknown. I have one small suggestion - when you add parents to a person by clicking on Add Parents and Siblings, and one of the spouses is unknown, you can keep the given name and surname fields blank. The Family page will automatically be titled correctly with the word Unknown. The same also applies if you add a spouse via Add another spouse & children.

On a page such as Family:Unknown and Baukje Schuifstra (1), we generally put the word Unknown only once for a person (ie not Unknown Unknown). Also, a Person page does not need to be created for an Unknown person. Both of these things should happen automatically for you if you leave the given name and surname fields blank when adding a new family. --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:28, 19 May 2011 (EDT)

Find a Grave images [20 May 2011]

Hallo Herman, I noticed that you uploaded an image from Find-a-Grave for Person:Ynte de Boer (1). Unfortunately, unlike Graftombe, images from Find-a-Grave are not in the public domain. Since they are copyrighted images, they cannot be uploaded to WR unless you took the photo or indicate that you have permission from the photographer on the image page. To delete the gravestone images, you can visit the image page (such as Image:Graf Ynte Andrew Sybolt de Boer.JPG) and click More>Delete. Let me know if you have any questions. Family:Meindert Rauwerda and Johanna Altena (1) should be all set now. The problem happened because you tried to add a second wife to the family (two versions of Johanna). Hallo Herman, I noticed that you have added links to frieslandwonderland.nl. This is a nice site! I have one suggestion, however. I would suggest adding the frieslandwonderland link to the Place page, rather than the person or family page. Here is an example: Place:Stiens, Leeuwarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands. On the Stiens place page, I put a link to frieslandwonderland.nl underneath the heading Websites. General information and research tips about places are best put on Place pages. World War II Draft Registration Cards [20 November 2011]

Hi Herman, I noticed that you uploaded a . One thing to note is that under "License and copyright" - you'll want to choose the FamilySearch.org limited use license. Also, I am not sure if you are aware, but the WWII draft cards are two pages (front and back). I see that Family:Lieuwe Kool and Antje De Jonker (1) and Family:Lieuwe Kool and Antje Jonker (2) are duplicate families. Your page says "Antje Jonker", but she was born as Antje de Jonker. Well, there are a couple of ways that I can explain how to merge. One option is that you could look at this page and practice on WR's Sandbox site. The problem there is the instructions are only in English. The other option is that I could show you from my own computer. If you are on Google+, and have a webcam (like for Skyping), I could take you through step-by-step while you see my computer screen. Month abbreviations in dates [10 jan 2012]

Hallo Herman, when adding dates to WeRelate, please use the English abbreviations of Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. This follows GEDCOM specifications and the system recognizes them better for proper sorting. You do not need to go back and edit your dates :) you can just implement this going forward. Interesse Stamboom Haitsma [21 jan 2013]

Ik heb gemerkt dat wij beide interesse voor het geslacht Haitsma hebben. Zelf ben ik net begonnen in het programma Aldfaer, maar ben er via internet achter gekomen dat er meerdere zoals u via ' we relate' er ook mee bezig zijn (geweest). wezel en feenstra [6 March 2014]

Goedemiddag,

In mijn stamboom komt Geertje Wezel voor een dochter van de ongehuwde moeder Maaike. Geertje trouwde met Kasper Feenstra in 1910 en ik houd mij met deze Feenstra's bezig. Het is mij onbekend of zij kinderen hebben ik kan hen nergens vinden.

Weet u iets dat mij verder kan helpen?
