Hopestill Harland Pillow [2 August 2020]

Hi I have added some info to Hopestill's page. I am hoping to find some living relatives of her to let them know that her name lives on in a charitable company set up by Oxford Terrace Baptist Church recently. It is called the Kanuka-Hopestill Trust. Hopestill Pillow was sent from OTBC as the second ever Baptist Missionary to leave from New Zealand in 1889. She went to Calcutta, India. Apparently when it was time for her to take a break she said she was too busy with too much work to do so stayed, shortly after falling ill and dying there. (Some reports in church history say she was expecting that as she took her own coffin with her to India!) Mother Teresa is buried in the same cemetery in Calcutta as Hopestill. Hope this is of some interest David (Jumper in NZ)--Jumper in NZ 11:16, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
