Hi,

Thanks for participating. You have a great article!

Some things that will make it easier to collaborate:

  • If you get boxes in your text its because there is a tab in the doc you ported over. Remove the tab and the box will go away.

Alyn Olson: I do not understand the 'ported over'here. Nor do I understand:boxes in your text. thanks,

  • When creating shared research pages it is better to just use the state (for US) or country (not US). It will be easier for other researchers will find your page. People generally start their search with a broader area, plus your cousins may have found relatives nearby.
  • Also, the program creates pages for the locations. There is already a page for each town (they are listed as city, state for the US) (East Bridgewater, Massachusetts) and a page for each county (they are listed as Name County, State (Plymouth County, Massechusetts). When a city, state, country is used a new page is created and information is harder to find.
  • There is a handy tutorial at Help:Shared research pages

Thanks again for participating :)

Licensing

Hi, WeRelate will feature ancestor pages in a few weeks and GEDCOM uploads about December, 2006. Ancestor pages will make posting biographies very simple. This has brought up some licensing issues. Please read Licensing issues discussion page and give us your opinion. Thanks --sq 16:08, 14 August 2006 (MDT)

Thank-you for your comment on the licensing. I've moved some things around due to other people's comments; your comment now appears on WeRelate talk:Licensing. Any further comments you have are greatly appreciated.--Dallan 10:34, 15 August 2006 (MDT)
