We seem to have a bug that effects mac's. We'll fix it on Mon. Thanks for the feedback.--sq 21:28, 31 March 2007 (MDT)
We skipped over images in the video because we will be simplifying the protocol this week sometime. So if I had put instructions in the video they would quickly be obsolete. Anyway, if you would like to upload images before things are updated, check the Upload images tutorial and Annotating images tutorial. There are also regular help pages if you click on the help button. If you have any particular problems please let me know. I am so glad you are enjoying the site, tell your friends. :D --sq 21:40, 31 March 2007 (MDT)
Hi. I noticed you were having some problems with the titles for your pages. The system doesn't understand the <'s. If you replace them with commas, don't use postal abbriviations and use only one place name and one surname in each title, the system can properly index them and you won't get all that funky stuff in your titles. --sq 12:51, 30 March 2007 (MDT)
Welcome to WeRelate, your virtual genealogical community. We're glad you have joined us. At WeRelate you can easily create ancestor webpages, connect with cousins and other genealogists, and find new information.
The first thing to do is launch Family Tree Explorer, then select File in the Family Tree Explorer menu and give your family tree a name. You can either upload your GEDCOM or create person and family pages one at a time. To upload your GEDCOM, select File in the Family Tree Explorer menu and then click on Import and choose the GEDCOM file to import. The system will create a editable web page for each person and family in your GEDCOM. To create a page manually, select Add in the Family Tree Explorer menu and click on Add new person; enter the given (first name) and surname (last name), select Add, then fill in the blanks and save.
The Family Tree Explorer is a Flash application and will need to use some space in your computer to cache the files. That's computer talk for "If you store some ancestor page information on your computer, you will be able to view more pages faster. Otherwise, the system has to fetch each page every time you edit or look at it. This caching is not permanent and only lasts as long as you are at WeRelate each time.
You should always sign in when you are editing or adding pages. Use the signature button to sign your work (the swiggle, second from the right, above the edit box). That way others with similar interests can find you. If you click on the blue user name on any page, you will go to that person's home page. You can leave a message on his/her Discussion page. The Discussion page button is in the light green second level menu bar above.
Please see the Great things you can do at WeRelate article.
Thanks for participating in your virtual community.--sq 09:41, 29 March 2007 (MDT)
The pages from "Snook Family File w-sourc.ged" have not yet been generated because they appear to match pages from a GEDCOM you have previously imported to WeRelate. Please be patient while we take a look at your GEDCOM. If it turns out that the people in Overlap.ged are different from people you have imported previously, your pages will be generated right after the review, which should happen tomorrow (or Monday if tomorrow falls on a weekend).
If you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in Snook Family File w-sourc.ged, we need to ask for your patience. We don't at present have a way to auto-merge people from multiple GEDCOM submissions, so if Snook Family File w-sourc.ged includes people you have previously imported, importing Snook Family File w-sourc.ged will create duplicate pages that you will have to merge later by hand. In the near future we will allow you to delete the pages generated by your previous GEDCOM submission and start over with a new GEDCOM. Until then please be patient. We will notify you as soon as deleting pages is available.

Hi Nathan--So you got stuck with me, huh?! ;-)
I will re-check what I submitted, but what I was trying to send was a family history starting with William Byers in VA in the 1700's. Did I inadvertantly re-send the Snook GEDCOM? (Both were located on my desktop and it could have happened.....) If so, sorry and I'll try to re-send the Byers after work today.
