Hello and welcome to the WeRelate virtual genealogical community. Together we can build a community website where we can learn from each other, work together and find what we need to make our research easier, more rewarding and fun.

If you would like to create a homepage:

  1. You will need to log in
  2. select the My Relate tab,
  3. click on homepage
  4. click on edit

You will see three input boxes. The first is for Surname in Place pages. These are like message boards--only they can be organized by county and family group with headers. New information can be added under a family's section at any time. Answers to a question can also be added right under the question. Information will not be lost in the threads. See Phillips in Texas. When you create a surname in place page, be sure use only the surname. You can create a header for individuals and families on the page itself. It should be entitled Surname|Place name like Phillips|Texas. The place should be a large area such as a state, or country. (If you click on edit button on Phillips in Texas you will be able to see how to create the headers for Phillips in Texas. )

Personal Research pages are password protected. These pages can be viewed by all but only you can write on them. They are a great place to store your research notes, to do list and transcriptions of historical documents. These can have any title you choose.

The third text box is for your homepage information. What ever you would like to tell the world about yourself and your research. Have fun and welcome to our virtual genealogical community.
