I am Victoria Hayes , I am Looking for the Connection to my Great- Great- Grandfather James Madison Hayes. Born in 1823 East TN, Died Little Rock Arkansas of sickness . Enlisted in Independence MO at Lee's Summit by Upton Hays. Aug. 7,1862 C.S.A. MO infantry Co , Col. Upton Hays Who I do believe is a relative was with James M. Hayes in battle of Lone Jack and Independence. Family's of Boone Hays and Tx Jack, Hermitage John ,all linked together. The family of George Hays and Sarah Dyer related too. James Madison Hayes eloped with Mary Epperson ( Shropshire ) from Grangier/Hawkins Co. tn in 1850. Her father was Shadrack M. Epperson Justice of the piece there.
