Hi, my name is Pamela Pollard and I began my interest in genealogy about two weeks after my mother passed away in 1983. I suddenly realized that I knew very little about my family history and nearly everyone in the family was gone who could tell me anything except my step-grandmother and an aunt. I spent the next year taking family pictures to a nursing home and holding them up for my grandmother to identify and to listen to her tell stories about the family. She passed away a year after my mother. I have had an obsession with genealogy ever since. Being born and raised in Dallas, Texas, I spent hours and hours in the wonderful Dallas Public Library reading microfilm.
I moved to Memphis, Tennesse in 1995 where I was transferred by International Paper. I recently retired from International Paper where I worked for 28-1/2 years the last 13 in the Memphis Corporate tax department. I married my wonderful husband, Perry, in 1999. My husband has grown twin daughters and we have five grandchildren. We also have a beautiful, black, part-labador, 'Geordi'. Since I have more time on my hands for genealogy, I finally decided to begin the work of putting my family on the internet.
In 2005, through the internet, I connected with a cousin, Jim Williams, who has graciously helped with the Gray and Keith lines, along with several other cousins along the way. Isn't that what genealogy is all about? I resisted putting my family on the internet until seeing the WeRelate website at the Federation of Genealogist in 2009 in Little Rock, AR and I decided to begin my family here. So for a computer savy beginner who knows nothing about a wiki.. here goes. And as Jim always says, if anyone has anything to add, correct, or change, please feel free to contact me.

Spouse of Rufus Summerfield Keith, b. 1814, TN, married Nancy Alice Middleton or Loretta Cross? See Family:Rufus Keith and Nancy Middleton (1) "A recently acquired family pedigree by Paul Richey, a great grand-son of Michael and Polly, states that Polly was also a sister to Loretta Cross, married to Rufus S. Keith and the mother of Loretta Jane Keith, wife of John Alman Gray (see Person: John Gray (125). Facts uncovered to date do not substantiate that statement." We are seeking evidence of a Rufus Keith marriage to a Loretta Cross.

In August 1918, Volume 26, on p 375 of the Confederate Veteran Magazine an ad was found which reads as follows: 'John B. He says Wiley Pollard and his father both enlisted in an Alabama regiment during the war between the States. John Pollard married my father's sister. My Father was John M.
