Defect 1

WR Community offers that the report of a child named "Penniwell" is probably in error. Specifically:

Hi. Just wanted to let you know that I believe I have found an error in Savage that you might want to mark in the transcript. On page 3:276, the children of John Newmarch (from his will) include Phebe and Pennywell. Phebe married a man named Peter Penniwell (according to WeRelate pages - I did not verify), and I assume that the will actually said Phebe Pennywell. I doubt that there was a man named Pennywell Newmarch. Anyway, I thought I'd let you take a look and see what you think. I have added the speedy delete template to the page for Pennywell Newmarch. Defect 3

Deacon Samuel Newman's second wife was Elizabeth (Smith) Viall, not Hannah Bunker. See TAG, Vol. 27, p. 222. Useful documents also found in Source:Linzee, John William. History of Peter Parker and Sarah Ruggles of Roxbury, Mass. and Their Ancestors and Descendants, p. 197. Hannah Bunker married his son Samuel, and lived until 1752. See Source:Bunker, Charles W. O. The wife Hannah Kennrick and the children listed by Savage belong to her and David Newman, not to Samuel Newman. Hannah (Kennrick) Newman, wife of David, d. 8 Apr 1718, and he m. (2) Hannah (Cheney) Wiswall, widow of Thomas Wiswall, the son of his father's 3rd wife. This Hannah d. 29 Jan 1730-1. Samuel Newman married Hannah Bunker, not Hannah Kennrick, in 1689, and had Hannah, Bathsheba,and Sarah, per Vital Record of Rehoboth, p. 690, 267, 855.
