Description

This is the enumeration for the United States census of 1880 of district 161 in Leavenworth County, Kansas, including that part of the fourth ward of the city of Leavenworth lying south of the Pottawatomie River.

The Page column of the table includes three items transcribed from the 1880 census schedules. The first number is the hand-written page number which begins with 1 on the first page of each district. The second number (in a bold font) is the folio number which appears on the recto of each bound folio page. The third item is the page letter which appears in order from A through D on each bifolio sheet.

Column descriptions will be displayed on mouseover of each column number. Also only the first letter of the street name appears in the table, and the full street names will be displayed on mouseover. Any text not transcribed or unreadable may appear as simply “~”. Check marks (✓) have been used for the affirmative marks to make them easier to see on some computers; smudged marks may appear as “[✓]”.

Initial transcription was made from a microfilm copy available in the Internet Archive.[1]
