12 yrs. John, 23 Feb. 1668, d. young; Joseph, 15 Mar. 1671; Samuel
18 June 1672; Jonathan, 5 Apr. 1674; Hannah, 23 Jan. 1676, d. at 2
yrs.; and John, again, 5 jan. 1678. His w. d. 9 Feb. foll. JOSEPH,
Braintree, br. of the preced. by w. Waiting, d. of William Robinson of
Dorchester, had Joseph, b. 20 Feb. 1670, d. at 20 yrs of the fever contract.
in Phip's crusade against Canada; Moses, 15 Mar. 1671, d. soon;
Mary, a. 1674; Moses, again, 14 Feb. 1678; Deborah, 27 Feb. 1680;
James, 11 Feb. 1683; and his w. d. 21 Aug. 1690; was freem. 1678,
deac. and 120 May 1693 m. Sarah, wid of deac. John Stone of Watertown,
d. of deac. Samuel Bass of Braintree, and d. 5 Nov. 1705. SAMUEL,
Braintree, br. of the preced. was freem. 1678, m. 6 Jan. 1674, Elizabeth
d. of Robert Parmenter, had Elizabeth b. Jan. 1675; Samuel, 15 Mar. 1676,
d. soon; Samuel, again, 5 Nov. 1677; Josiah, 21 Nov. 1678, d. soon;
Hannah, 12 Feb. 1683; Jonathan, 17 Feb. 1686; and James, 29 Mar.
1695; was lieut. and d. 16 Jan. 1705. Of this name in 1834, five had
been gr. at Harv. one at Yale, and four at other N. E. coll.

PENNY, HENRY, New Hampsh. secr. of the Prov. 1683, and a capt. d.
16 mar. 1709, leav. s. Henry in Eng. Adams, 106. ROBERT, Salem,
had gr. of ld. 1638. THOMAS, Gloucester 1652, of wh. our kn. is incomplete,
as that his wh. Ann d. 26 Apr. 1667, and he m. 15 June 1668,
Agnes Clark, wh. d. 23 Feb. 1682; and he m. 17 May foll. Joan Brabrook,
perhaps wid. of Richard. But when he took the first w. what was
her surname, or how many ch. they had, is untold; and, tho. the name
was cont. in the town to a third and fourth generat, we see in his will a.
1692, only one ment. that Joan, wh.had m. so early, Babson says, as 28
Mar. 1658. Thomas Kent. WILLIAM, Salem, m. 15 May, 1676 Sarah
PENOYER or PENNYER, ROBERT, emb. in the Hopewell, capt. Babb,
8 Sept. 1635, aged 21, with Thomas, 10, perhaps br. of cousin, at London,
where Mr. Somerby, from the custom h. rec. found the name Pennaire,
but I know, that he wrote it Penoire. Where he first sat down,
after land. at Boston, is uncert. Yet in Col. Rec. I find he was sentence.
to be whip. in 1639, for some failure, and that, perhaps, made him rem. but,
of whatever part of Mass. it was, he had left in ten yrs being then near
Gravesend on L. I. and not long after at Stamford where he m. prob.
not first w. the wid. of Richard Scofield, and in Oct. 1671, giv. capt.
