    PASSAM, PASSANT or PASSON, HUGH, Watertown 1649, d. 13 June
1675, aged a. 63, had w. Ruth, who d. 28 Aug. 1676, but prob. no ch.
They were very poor, and rec. relief, as paupers. But the real name
was Parson; which see.

    PATCH, ABRAHAM, Ipswich 1667, s. of Edmund, m. 13 Mar. 1671,
Eunice, d. of George Fraile of Lynn, had Abraham, b. 17 May 1672;
and Edmund; but bef. the b. of this latter, he ran away with the w. of
ano. leav. says Col. Rec. V. 39, "his aged f. debilit. in body and mind."
BENJAMIN, Salem, youngest s. of the first John of the same, m. 16 July
1694, Susanna, d. of Nicholas Legrove, had Priscilla, b. 28 Nov. foll.;
John, 31 Mar. 1696; Nicholas, 10 Aug. 1698; Elizabeth 4 Sept. 1700; Benjamin,
20 Sept. 1702; Brackenbury, 17 May 1705; Freeborn, 10 Oct.
1708; and Hannah, 15 June 1711. He d. 1730, and his wid. d. 2 Nov.
1733. EDMUND, Salem, 1639, had Abraham, bapt. 5 Aug. 1649; d. 10
Nov. 1680. JAMES, Salem 1646, liv. on Beverly side, by w. Hannah,
had Mary, b. 21 May 1647, d. at two yrs.; Mary, again, 6 Apr. 1650;
prob. James, wh. d. 10 Aug. 1653; Eliz. 16 June 1654; James, again,
21 June 1655; and Nicholas, 21 Oct. 1657, who d. Jan. foll.; d. 10
Aug. 1658; in his will of 7 Aug. in this yr. names w. Hannah, s. James;
ds. Mary, and Eliz; brs. Nicholas Woodbury and John P. His d. Mary
m. 28 Apr. 1688, Paul Thorndike; and Eliz. m. Richard Thistle. The
wid. d. 1703, at Ipswich. JAMES. Salem, s. of the preced. rem. to Ipswich,
by first w. whose name is not seen, had James; John, b. 1699;
Mary; Bethia; and Hannah; took sec. w. 1707 or 17, Mary, wid. of
David Thompson, but had no more ch. and d. 1733. JOHN, Salem, br.
of the first James. liv. on Beverly side, freem. 1678, by w. Eliz. d. of
Richard Brackenbury, had Richard, b. 30 Apr. 1648; Sarah, 28 July
1650, d. young; Eliz. 12 Aug. 1652, or, by var. read. of the same
numerals, 6 Feb. 1653; Ellen, 20 Sept. 1656, d. young; John, 1
Mar. 1659; and Benjamin. Eliz. m. 16 Nov. 1674, Jonathan Byles.
JOHN, Salem, s. of the preced. by w. Priscilla, had Ambrose, Nicholas,
and Susanna, and d. Nov. 1734. NICHOLAS, Salem, br. of Edmund, had
gr. of ld. 1639, says Felt, was one of the founders of ch. at Beverly 1667, with
Elizabeth prob. his w. who was, says a wild tradit. the first girl of Eng. parents, b.
in the col. of Mass and d. 14 Jan. 1715, aged 86. He d. Nov. 1673,
leav. 2 John, and Thomas. Hutch. II. 216 and 3 Mass. Histo. Coll. VII.
256. Felt, in a note on Ann. I. 175, informs us. "a Patch fam. was in
Salem as early as 1629; "but it is thot. by many that is ten yrs. too
soon. RICHARD, Salem, eldest s. of the first John, freem. 1678, m. 8
Feb. 1673. Mary Goldsmith, had Eleanor, Richard, Robert, John, and
John, again. He m. 12 June, 1704, Hannah Eaton, but had not more
