RICHARD, Ipswich 1648, may be the man who liv. long at Reading, there
d. 22 Nov. 1674, in his will, three days bef. of wh. s. John was excor.
names w. Ann, other s. Thomas, and James, and ds. Mary and Hannah.
ROBERT, Watertown, m. 1644 or 5, Sarah, wid. of John Goss, may be
the man, to wh. with many others, our Col. governm. in 1680, made
of ld. at the bot. of Casco Bay five miles sq. and two of the islds. adj.
ROBERT, Saybrook 1664-73. ROBERT, Falmouth 1670, perhaps s. of
the first Robert, was k. by the Ind. Sept. 1675, at Scarborough. SAMUEL,
Reading, nam. an early sett. by Eaton, but I find no other ment. of
him; unless he were that s. of the first James of Malden, wh. had d.
Elizabeth to rec. in right of her f. dec. on settlem. of her gr.f.'s est. in 1706.
SAMUEL, Stratford, s. of Caleb of the same, rem. early to Derby, thence
perhaps, to Woodbury, there d. 1691, leav. wid. Susanna, and only ch.
Josiah, aged 4. THOMAS, Hingham 1637, rem. prob. to Scituate, aft. m.
with Rebecca, d. of Thomas Josselyn, or Jostlin, but in few yrs. back to
H. had Rebecca, Ephraim, Israel, and Thomas, beside Martha and Mary,
tw. b. 3 July 1653, and Sarah, 20 July 1655. Rebecca m. 1664,

had Ebenezer, b. 3 Aug. 1664; and, perhaps, of Amesbury in 1677.
That ch. Ebenezer was, perhaps, fem. for the same rec. makes Benoni
Tucker m. June 1686, Ebenezer N. THOMAS, Reading, s. of Richard,
freem. 1684, was deac. THOMAS, Scituate, s. of the first Thomas, m.
1663, Sarah, d. of John Whiston, had Sarah, b. 1668, Rebecca, 1670;
Joseph, 1673; Susanna, 1676; Mary, 1679; Bathsheba, 1681; Israel,
1683; Patience, 1685; and Elizabeth 1690. Deane. THOMAS, Reading,
freem. 1691, was prob s. of deac. Thomas. WALTER, Charlestown
1638, had been of some other ch. if he be as I think prob. that freem.
of 7 Dec. 1636, whose name in the appendix to Winthrop is print. Nicholas,
and by Paige's list, Nicoles, wh. was very freq. spell. of this surname
in old rec. An Elizabeth N. emb. at London 1635, aged 25, in the
Susan and Ellen, at the same time with Richard Saltonstall, and that
Penelope Pelham, who some yrs. aft. m. Gov. Bellingham, but whether
she was w. of any of the preced. is unkn. WILLIAM, Salem 1638, had
then gr. of ld. rem. New London, perhaps in co. with Robert
Isbell, wh. d. a. 1655, and N. m. his wid. Ann. He was a substantial
man in business of the town, had no ch. and d. 4 Sept. 1673. His wid.
