he d. Jan. 1708, almost 100 yrs. old, and that Joanna d. there in May
foll. aged a 100. Perhaps it was his d. Mary wh. m. 6 July 1659,
Robert Russell. THOMAS, Charlestown 1684, who gains this place, as
does he of Salem 1637, on authority of Barry. THOMAS, Hartford, had
sis. Mary, wh. m. John Catlin, but who was their f. is not ascert. He
had Mary, b. 10 May 1670; John, 24 Feb. 1672; William, 21 Apr.
1674; Thomas, 3 Oct. 1676; Eliz. 23 Oct. 1678; Sarah, 27 Mar.
1681; and Benjamin, 22 Feb. 1684; and d. 1692. His s. Thomas, a
mariner, m. aft. the date of his will, 15 Feb. 1697, Mary Chantrel of
Boston, spinster, and she had it pro. 19 Sept. 1700, as his wid. in wh.
he gave memo. to his sis. Eliz. spinster, and bro. Benjamin, and uncle
John Catlin, all of Hartford, as he also styles hims. but all resid. to his
beloved fr. M. C. THOMAS, Windsor, s. of capt. Samuel, m. 3 Mar.
1686, Mary Drake, d. prob. of John of the same, had Thomas, b. 14
Jan. 1687, d. young; Mary, 21 Feb. 1689; Samuel, 23 July 1691;
Thomas, 6 Feb. 169-4; Rachel, 12 Apr. 1696; Catharine, 11 Apr.
1699; John, 3 Apr. 1701; Noah, 24 Apr. 1703, d. young; Daniel,
1705; Benjamin, 8 Aug. 1707, d. in few mos.; and Eunice, 3 May
1709. WILLIAM, Salem 1638, had then, says Felt, gr. of ld. He prob.
came in the Abigail, 1636, from London, aged 40. WILLIAM, Charlestown,
m. 8 Apr. 1666[2], Mary. d. of William Hilton, wh. d. 13[1] July 1678,
aged a. 33, had William, and Mary, bapt. 4 Feb. 1672, she hav. join.
the ch. a few days bef.; John, 20 Apr. 1673; Edward, 16 Apr. 1676;
and; by sec. w. Lydia had Samuel, bapt. 31 Aug. 1684; Hannah, 25
Sept. 1687. Twelve of this name had, in 1834, been gr. at N. E. coll.
half of them at Harv. three at Yale, and two at Dart.

    MARSHCROFT, MASHCROFT or MASCROFT, DANIEL, Roxbury, m.
23 May 1665, Mary, d. of John Gorton, prob. liv. in some other place,
there had Elizabeth until d. of the f. of his u. aft. wh. I find in the rec. of
R. Hannah, b. 6 May 1677; but perhaps he rem. again to some neighb.
town, and had Samuel, brot. to bapt. with Mehitable, 3 Feb. 1684, when
we see in rec. of b. only that of the d. 28 Feb. bef. He had also Mary,
whose
b. is not kn. but she d. 8 June 1688; and he d. perhaps bef.
mid. age, and his w;a. d. 30 June 1703. Elizabeth m. at R. 18 Mar. 1700,
Samuel Spencer; and Hannah m. 16[3] July 1701, Samuel Frost. But
both the hs. were, I suppose, of ano. town.

    MARSHFIELD, JOSIAH, Springfield, s. of Samuel, m. 22 Sept. 1686,
Rachel, d. of Jonathan Gilbert, had six ch. b. at S. was freem. 1690,
and aft. 1700 rem. to Hartford, there had a 8. b. 17 Mar. 1704. * SAMUEL,
