    LYTHERLAND, LETHERLAND or LITHERLAND, WILLIAM, Boston
1630, came, no doubt, in the fleet with Winthrop in the employm. of
Owen Roe of London, wh. was one of the comp. of adventur. to Mass.
who never came here, but was made memb. of the High Court of Justice,
so call. for condemnat. of the king, and affixed his seal, as one of
the regicides, to the warrant for execut. L. joined our ch. 24 Nov.
1633, and bec. I suppose, freem. 4 Mar. foll. when the name in the
list is Netherland; was a supporter of Mrs. Hutchinson's opinions, for
wh. he was disarm. and went off to R. I. was many yrs. town clk. of
Newport, had w. Margaret, but whether any ch. is unkn. to me. In
1684, he was call. to give testim. as to the purch. from the Ind. on first
eom. to sett. here, and then call. his age 74. See 2 Mass. Hist. Coll.
IV. 203. ZIBION, or more prob. ZEBULON (both names being used in
the rec. of b. tho. the former more frequent and latest), Boston, by w.
Rachel had Margaret, b. 4 July 1670; William, 5 Mar. 1673; and
Deborah, 2 Oct. 1678.

    MABER, RICHARD, Salem, m. 21 Nov. 1670, Mary Allen, had Dorcas,
b. 29 July 1672; John, 1 Mar. 1675; and John, again, 15 Oct. 1679.

    MACCALLOM or MAKCALLOM, MALCOLM, Boston, 1657, one of the
first mem. of the Scots' Charit. Soc. In Drake's Hist. 455, by error of
one letter, the name is made Maktallome.

    MACCANE, WILLIAM, Wrentham, by w. Ruth had William, wh. was
k. by casualty in youth; Mary, b. 1 Feb. 1670; Sarah, 10 Aug. 1671;
and Deborah, 23 May 1674; prob. others.

    MACCARTY, FLORENCE, Boston 1686, butcher, was one of the found.
of the first soc. for Episcop. worship in N. E. by w. Elizabeth had Elizabeth b.
25 Dec. 1687; Thomas, 5 Feb. 1689; William, 3 Feb. 1691; and by
w. Sarah had Esther, 1 July 1701; and Margaret, 29 Mar. 1702, if the
rec. be thot. right. He d. 13 June 1712, at Roxbury, and a third w.
Christian, with his s. William admin. the est. wh. was compet.
THADDEUS, Boston, by w. Elizabeth had Charles, wh. d. 25 Oct. 1683, aged
18; Francis, b. 21 Mar. 1667; Thadaeus, 12 Sept. 1670; Margaret,
25 Sept. 1676, and Samuel, bapt. at Roxbury, 3 Nov. 1678. He was of
ar. co. 1681, d. at B. 18 June 1705, aged 65; and his wid. Elizabeth d. 7
June 1723, aged 82. A Thomas, H. C. 1691, wh. was d. 1698, Hutch.
I. 392, 3, and a Charles, badly wound. in the exped. 1690, against
Quebec, are of unkn. descent.

    MACARTER, MAKARTA, MAGARTA or MECARTA, JOHN, Salem, m. 27
Jan. 1675, Rebecca Meacham, d. perhaps of Jeremiah, had John, b. 13
Jan. 1676; Rebecca, 4 Feb. 1678; Jeremiah, 9 Sept. 1679; Peter, 1
Nov. 1681; Andrew, 6 June 1684; James, 17 Nov. 1686; all bapt. 16
Nov. 1687; Isaac, 3 June, bapt. 28 Sept. 1689; and Rebecca, again, b.
6 Feb. 1691.
