    CRAFORD or CRAFFORD, JOHN, Dover 1671, liv. with w.
Elizabeth some yrs. later at Portsmouth. MORDECAI, Salem, in 1663
had w. Judith. MUNGO, Boston 1686, a Scotchm. had been some
yrs. here, apprent. or a serv. of John Smith, the mason, and this yr. was
allow. to be an inhab. By w. Mary he had Elizabeth b. 19 May 1681, wh.
d. young; was, I believe, among the adher. of Andros, imprison. Apr.
1689, but did not go home, and is among the tax. 1695; by sec. w. Susanna
had only ch. Mary, wh. m. Stephen Paine; and d. 1712. The inv.
of £109, 9, 10, had drugs and medicines for two fifths. His wid. Susanna
made her will 27 Aug. 1713, pro. 15 Sept. aft. mak. d. Mary and her h.
Stephen excors. giv. all to Mary, exc. £20 to ea. of the gr.ch. An early
sett. Mr. Craford, prob. of Watertown, had been drown. [See Winthrop I.
138], and lieut. Feale, and three other gent. of that town, by order of 6
Oct. 1634, were to the inv. of his est. for the Court. STEPHEN,
Kittery 1640, d. at Isle of Shoals 1647, leav. w. and one ch.

    CRAFTS, GRIFFIN, Roxbury 1630, came, prob. with w. Alice and
d. Hannah, in the fleet with Winthrop freem. 18 May 1631; had John, b.
10 July 1630, the earliest b. in town rec.; Mary, 10 Oct. 1632; Abigail,
28 Mar. 1634; Samuel, 12 Dec. 1637; and Moses, 28 Apr. 1641; was
lieut. selectman, rep. 1663-7, ar. co. 1668, and d. 1690, leav. wid. Dorcas,
his third or fourth w. wh. d. 30 Dec. 1697; but he had former w. for he
m. 15 July 1673, Ursula, wid. of William Robinson of Dorchester, being,
her fourth h.; and in the rec. is Alice C. d. 26 Mar. 1673, aged 73. In
his will, made 18 May 1689, pro. 9 Nov. 1690, of wh. Samuel was excor.
he names Abigail, wh. had first m. 24 Jan. 1651, John Ruggles, as w.
of Edward Adams; Hannah, as w. of Nathaniel Wilson; and gr.ch.
Ephraim, s. of John. Apostle Eliot spells his name Crofts; in some
other rec. e is used for s final; and often the first five letters made the
name. JOHN, Roxbury, eldest s. of the preced. m. 7 June 1654, Rebecca
Wheelock, prob. d. of Ralph, had John, b. 5 Aug. 1658, wh. was
drown. 5 May 1684, I think, unm.; Rebecca, 28 Aug. 1660; Mary, 16
Oct. 1662; wh. three were bapt. 17 May 1663; and Joseph, 5 May
1666, d. at two mos. His w. d. Nov. 1667, and he m. 30 Mar. 1669,
Mary Hudson of Lynn, wh. d. 3 Jan. 1724; had Abigail, 6 Mar. 1670;
Mehitable, 31 Aug. 1673; Sarah, 17 Feb. 1675; Ephraim, 9 Aug.
1677; and Lydia, 8 Apr. 1681; and he d. 3 Sept. 1685. MOSES, Roxbury,
br. of the preced. m. 24 Jan. 1667, Rebecca, d. of Peter Gardner,
had Rebecca, b. 22 Apr. 1668, d. next yr.; Moses, 8 Aug. 1669, d. young;
Rebecca, again, 2 Mar. 1671; and Abigail, 1677. He rem. to
