to New London, and to the then adjoin. town of Norwich at its first settlem.
1659; but, high as is her authority on such a point, I hesitate to
adopt Miss Caulkins's opin. that, intermed. betw. Salem and New London,
he was of Saybrook. Tho. honor. with the office of constable at Norwich
1669, he went back to N. L. and there d. 1683, were part of his farm
preserves in the harbor the name of Allyn's point. Other ch. beside
those at Salem he had, as Hannah and Deborah, both prob. at N. L.
Sarah m. 17 Feb. 1659, George Geer; Hannah m. Thomas Rose; and
Deborah was unm. at d. of f. * SAMUEL, Barnstable, s. of Thomas of
the same, m. 10 May 1661, Hannah, d. of Rev. Thomas Walley, had
Thomas, b. 22 Mar. 1665; Samuel, 19 Jan. 1667; Joseph, 7 Apr. 1671;
Hannah, 4 Mar. 1673; and Elizabeth 26 Nov. 1681, wh. d. at 17 yrs. was
rep. three yrs. 1682-4. His w. d. 23 Oct. 1711, and he d. 25 Nov. 1726.
THOMAS, Wethersfield 1636, not migrat. from Watertown, for Bond
has not nam. him, was br. of Matthew, with wh. he had extraord. controvers.
in the law, as is fairly infer. from Trumbull's Col. Rec. I. 211,
was made freem. 1652, rep. 1656; and soon after d. as might be conclud.
from not seeing his name as rep. in any yr. subseq. nor in the list
of freem. for that town 1669; yet he may have rem. to Middletown, as
no list of that sort is found from that place in Trumbull, and one of the
name there was deac. wh. d. 16 Oct. 1688, having had no ch. but leav.
wid. Martha, perhaps, wh. had been wid. of Roger Jepson, and d. 1690.
She calls, in her will, Obadiah A. of M. cousin. Y. not e is seen in his
last syl. tho. in his bapt. rec. Apr. 1604 (if he were s. of Samuel of
Chelmsford Co. Essex), the spell. is the other way. THOMAS, Barnstable,
had Samuel, b. 10, bapt. 18 Feb. 1644; John, bapt. 27 Sept. 1646;
and Mehitable, bapt. 26 Nov. 1648; and he d. Nov. 1680, at gr. age.
Mehitable m. 1 June 1667, Samuel Annable of the same. His first w. was
nam. Winifred; the sec. was a wid. but surnames are not found. THOMAS,
Windsor, s. of Matthew of the same, perhaps b. in Eng. m. 21 Oct. 1658, Abigail,
d. of Rev. John Warham, had John, b. 17 Aug. 1659, wh. d. young;
Matthew, 5 Jan. 1661; Thomas, 11 Mar. 1663; John, again, 24 June 1665;
Samuel, 3 Nov. 1667; Jane, 22 July 1670; Abigail, 17 Oct. 1672; Sarah,
13 July 1674; Esther, 29 Jan. 1676; and Benjamin, 1680. He was
made freem. 1659, and esteem. in the milit. serv. in wh. he rose to be
capt. and d. 14 Feb. 1696. THOMAS, Windsor, s. of the preced. m. 6 Jan.
1686, Martha, sec. d. of Simon Wolcott, wh. had Martha, b. 1 Sept. liv. only
two days, and the mo. liv. only four days more, for she d. 7 Sept. of next yr.
and in any other particul. nothing is kn. WILLIAM, Stonington, had John, George,
Jane, and Elizabeth to wh. on his d. 7 Sept. 1671, he left his prop. speak. of his
