had Samuel, 1699; Nathaniel, 1703; Stephen, 1706; Nathaniel, again,
1710; and Aquila, 1711, and d. 1720.

    CAVE, THOMAS, Salem vill. now Danvers, 1682, m. Mary, d. of
William Nichols, had on rec. of Topsfield, Sarah, b. 2 Mar. 1673; Hannah,
14 Mar. 1676; Abigail, 28 Mar. 1677; Thomas, 6 Mar. 1681; and Ann, 9
July, 1682.

    CAWDALL, JOHN, Newport, in Stiles's list of freem. there 1655.

    CAWLY, THOMAS, Marblehead 1671, by w. Mary, d. of Benjamin
Parmenter, had Benjamin.

    CAYME, ARTHUR, York 1680, took o. of alleg. that yr.

    CENTER, JOHN, Boston, by w. Mary had John, b. 8 Aug. 1682; and
Jonathan, 8 Feb. 1685; and by w. Ruth had Elinor, 6 July 1687;
Ruth, bapt. 15 May 1692; Sarah, 20 July 1695; and Jeremiah, 20
June 1697. His wid. m. Josiah Wright, and d. 18 Feb. 1717,
aged 60.

    CHADBOURNE, HUMPHREY, Kittery, sent over 1631, by Mason, the
patentee of Piscataqua, to regul. all the E. side of the riv. liv. at the
falls call. Newichwanuck, non S. Berwick, under jurisdict. of Mass. was
ensign 1653, town clk. 1634, rep. 1657, 9, and till 1663. HUMPHREY,
Kittery, perhaps s. perhaps neph. of the preced. m. Lucy, d. of James
Treworgy
, but d. bef. mid. age, prob. betw. 1660 and 1669. His wid. m.
Thomas Wills. JAMES, Kittery 1677. WILLIAM, Kittery 1631, was,
no doubt, br. or other relat. of the first Humphrey, and sent over with him
for interest of the patentee, had sev. ch. of wh. the names and deeds of
all are unkn. except that one d. m. Thomas Spencer. WILLIAM, Kittery
1631, may have been s. of Humphrey or of the preced. for nothing is
kn. but that he was call junr. and rem. to Boston, where by w. Mary he
had Mary, b. Dec. 1644. Well has the name been perpet. and some
descend. of Humphrey, or William, but wh. I kn. not, have part of the
Newichwanuck est. to our day.

    CHADDOCK, for this name, Coffin gives an alias Chadwick, that grew
perhaps from the sound.

    CHADWELL, BENJAMIN, Dover 1659, may have been s. of Thomas,
and rem. to Lynn, m. 20 Dec. 1666, Elizabeth Hawes, had Elizabeth b. 26 Nov. 1667;
Benjamin, 5 Mar. 1669; Joseph, 14 Apr. 1671; Jeremiah, 9 Sept. 1673; Samuel,
26 Feb. 1676; and Mary, 27 Mar. 1679. His inv. was tak. 17 June
1679; and the wid. Elizabeth m. early in 1681, John Jewett of Ipswich.
MOSES, Lynn, br. of the preced. In. Feb. 1661, Sarah Ivory,
perhaps d. of Thomas, had Thomas, b. 11 Dec. 1662; Sarah, 12
Mar. 1667; Lois, 3 Oct. 1670; Moses, 11 Sept. 1673, d. at 3 yrs.;
