    BEARSE, BEARCE or BIERCE, AUSTIN, or AUGUSTINE, Barnstable,
came in the Confidence 1638, aged 20, from Southampton, and join.
Lothrop's ch. in Apr. 1643, had Mary, b. 1640; Martha, 1642; both
bapt. 7[1] May 1643; Pricilla, 10 Mar. 1644; Sarah, 29[1] Mar. 1646;
Abigail, 19[1] Dec. 1647; Hannah, 18[1] Nov. 1649; Joseph, 20[1] Jan. 1652;
Esther, 2 Oct. 1653; Lydia, late in Sept. 1655; Rebecca, 26 Sept.
1657; and James, late in July 1660. Of this sec. s. as no more is heard,
it is suppos. that he d. young; but for the nine ds. we know only three
that m., Sarah, in Aug. 1667 to John Hamlin; Abigail, 12 Apr. 1670
to Allen Nichols; and Rebecca, 17 Feb. 1671 to William Hunter.
JOSEPH, Barnstable, s. of the preced. m. 3 Dec. 1675, Martha, d. of
Richard Taylor, wh. d. 27 Jan. 1728, aged 76, had Mary, b. 16 Aug.
1677; Joseph, 21 Feb. 1680; Benjamin, 21 June 1682; Priscilla, 31
Dec. 1683, d. at 3 mos.; Ebenezer 20 Jan. 1685; John, 8 May 1687;
these four s. were bapt. 16 Dec. 1688; Josiah, 10 Mar. 1690, bapt. 10
Apr. 1691; and James, b. 3 Oct. 1692.

    BEARSLEY, BEARDSLEY, BERDSLEY or BERSLEY(sound BARESLEY),
DANIEL, Stratford 1675, s. of William of the same, d. 1730, aged 85. JOHN
Stratford 1668, br. of the preced. JOSEPH, Stratford, br. of the preced. freem.
1669, had Joseph, b. 1666; John, 1 Nov. 1668; Hannah, 1671; and perhaps
others. SAMUEL, Stratford, br. of the preced. freem. 1669, had Abigail, b.
Aug. 1664; Samuel, 1 Sept. 1666; William, 2 Mar. 1669; Daniel, 3 Apr. 1671;
John, 1673; Benjamin, Dec. 1677; and Mary, 1680. THOMAS, Milford 1647,
had Thomas. THOMAS, Fairfield, perhaps br. of William. d. 1656. THOMAS,
Stratford, s. of Thomas of Milford, d. 1668. WILLIAM, Stratford, a mason,
came 1635, in the Planter from London, aged 30, with w. Mary, 26, and ch.
Mary 4; John, 2; and Joseph, 6 mos. He was freem. in Mass. 7 Dec. 1636,
but dwell, in wh. town is unkn. was one of the orig. proprs. of S. 1640,
and there had Daniel, b. 1644; beside Samuel wh. d. 1706; prob. Sarah,
wh. m. 1668, Obadiah Dickinson of Hatfield, and one or more other ds.
was rep. 1645, and often after, and d. 1661. His will of 28 Sept. 1660,
names w. and four s., Daniel, John, Joseph, and Samuel; gives to ds. m.
£10 ea. and a large sum to be distrib. by the w. to other ch. prob. younger,
and unm. of wh. were certain. William, and Thomas. Of the grs. at Yale,
in 1828, were seven Beardsleys.

    BEAUCHAMP or BEACHUM, EDWARD, Salem 1637, join. with
the ch. 29 Dec. 1639, and his w. Mary join. the foll. yr., was freem. 28
Feb. 1643, had Samuel, bapt. 31 Oct. 1641, wh. d. 20 Nov. 1662; Mary,
10 Sept. 1643, d. young; Mary, again, 27 June 1647, d. Mar. 1668; and
Elizabeth 23 July 1648. His w. had d. Mar. 1668, in the same week with her
d. Mary; and he m. 8 Nov. 1670, wid. Elizabeth Metcalf. His d. Elizabeth m. 30
June 1666, Zechariah Goodale. JOHN, Boston, leather-dresser, a Huguenot,
brot. prob. most of his ch. to N. E. but it is not kn. when or where
he land. first. By w. Marguerite, we see in rec. of B. that he had here Catharine,
b. 10 June 1687; and Peter, 17 Apr. 1702, perhaps youngest of
