Description

The microphotographic certification is dated 24 Aug. 1943. Crew lists were included on the microfilm, but they are not transcribed here.

The steamship Queen Mary, a member of the Cunard-White Star Line, was launched in 1934 and sailed its maiden voyage 27 May 1936. Its route was between Southampton and New York, via Cherbourg.[1]

Most of the information in these lists was typewritten. Each sheet was signed, and the signatures are not transcribed.

The Page column of the table includes three items transcribed from each sheet of the lists. The first number (in a bold font) is the large hand-written list number, appearing on the front of each sheet. The sheets for each class of passengers were numbered separately. They are out of order in the microfilm, but have been put back in order for this transcript. The second number is the stamped list number appearing near the bottom of each sheet, numbered sequentially from the first sheet to the last sheet in the microfilm, irrespective of passenger class. The third item is the stamped page number appearing in the upper right corner of each side of each sheet, also numbered sequentially from the beginning to the end irrespective of passenger class.

Initial transcription was made from a microfilm copy available in the Internet Archive.[2]
