We know that Moses (6) was a married adult when he and wife Agnes were sued by Thomas Turk and his wife in 1755. This gives him a DOB of no later than c1735. The Ancestry familoly Trees for Moses Walker and Agnis typically cit either a 1726 DOB or a 1736 DOB, both of which are consistent with a DOB for Moses of no later than c1735. Those citing a 1726 DOB tend to identify his parents as Peter Walker and Mary Childs of Rehoboth, Mass. Those citing a 1736 DOB tend not to identify his parents. It is likely that the 1726 DOB (usually given precisely as 5 October 1726), is based on hard documentation. However that documentation has not be recovered, and does not accompany any of the family trees for this couple. Further exploration of the Peter Walker=Mary Childs line may yield additional data. Currently, howver, there is not enough information at hand to justify identifying the later couple as his parents. While it is likely that Peter and Mary had a son Moses, Moses of Old Augusta can not be confidently identified as that child.

Most family trees identify Moses as dying about 1806 in Person County NC. The basis for this is unknown. Again, it seems likely that a Moses Walker did indeed die in Person County in 1806, abut it is not clear that this Moses is also Moses (6) of Old Augusta.

Because we have only the single record from Chalkley for Moses and wife Agness, which provides no further information about him or his family, it is not currently feasible to associate this Moses Walker and wife Agnis with any of the family trees on Ancestry. Additional work in Rehoboth, Mass and person County NC may yield additional results to resolve this problem.
