Talk:Burlingame in Essex County, New York

Possibilities for Joseph

James m. Martha Hawks has a male in his household in 1820, 1830 and 1840 born between 1815 and 1820. James moved to Whiteside/Carroll Counties in Illinois, just down the river from Grant County, WI, where my Joseph turned up in 1850. There are no unaccounted for Burlingame males in the marriage records of either Illinois county. James' unidentified son is my current favorite prospect. Can anyone shoot down my theory?--Amelia.Gerlicher 17:17, 18 May 2006 (MDT)

Other children for Daniel and Sarah

I've seen posts, apparently influenced by Ancestral File or other compiled trees, that list the following additional sons for Daniel and Sarah, but do not further connect them:

Charles BURLINGAME - m. Mary Paine, had children in Smithfield, RI
Benedict BURLINGAME
William BURLINGAME
George H. BURLINGAME
Lewis BURLINGAME

Because all five are all listed together [in addition to James and Joseph] without any additional information, I suspect they are all the product of some long ago research that I'm reluctant to trust without more. The 1784 Cumberland census allegedly says Daniel and Sarah have four sons. One is Joseph, and James may well have been born later, leaving 2-3 unaccounted for. Is there a later census also listing children? --Amelia.Gerlicher 17:08, 18 May 2006 (MDT)
