Not all Gunns are Scots

There seems to be an assumption that all Gunns descend from a Scot clan, but my ancestor (Thomas Gunn) was almost certainly English, from Devonshire. He came to New England in 1630. It's possible, of course, that his ancestors came to England from Scotland. It's also quite possible that they did not. Even today there appear to be many Gunns in England, and in Devonshire, with no apparent Scottish link.
