Questions [20 April 2009]

Leo,

Would this be the same newspaper: [1]? It's a digital archief of the Alkmaarsche courant for 1930-1939.

Also, we should rename this... how does Netherlands, Noord-Holland, Alkmaar. Alkmaarse Courant suit you? Or, is it Alkmaarsche?--Jennifer (JBS66) 09:14, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

I have discovered something; I have been terribly misled. "My" courant is this one: http://www.oudestad.nl/pagina94.html I have a few deaths from it, through familieberichten online, it is 'alkmaarse'. Even worse: the KB doesn't seem to have it. "Yours" with sch is today Noordhollands dagblad; so the information from the KB cat. which is over at mine belongs actually to yours.

The title: if that is the way they name it over here..........well, I am glad I didn't invent that; amateurs; does that make sense really; ? What do you start with when entering a source; does the search engine catch it halfway if you start with Alkmaar or do you start with Nederland, and in that case how many [thousand] possible hits do you get? And if I know neither place nor publisher, which to newspaper citations doesn't really matter, and I just enter Algemeen Dagblad, what do I get? And for how long will it be correct? Perhaps next year the company runs into trouble and Wegener takes over; then the publisher is in Apeldoorn and not in Alkmaar anymore. ??????? cheerzzzzzzzzz leo --Leo Bijl 16:38, 20 April 2009 (EDT)
