Usage Tips

Caution: I used this book briefly to find supporting detail about Family:Nathaniel Seaman and Rachel Willis (1) listed in the Source:Flushing, Queens, New York, United States. Monthly Meeting Records, 1640- and discovered that it misinterpreted nearly every date in that source. This indicates that the author is unfamiliar with month numbering changes that occur with dates before 1753.

Most, but not all, of these errors are simply not realizing that the first month of the year was March, not January, until 1753. But the net result was when this source gave a date for which I had no original document, I was unwilling to accept it at face value, but also unwilling to cite a date based on my guess at what was probably the real date. So while this source was useful for general relationships, it was necessary to find a confirming source for all the dates. --Jrich 20:10, 8 June 2010 (EDT)
