Usage Tips

Records of recent deaths are present at the Ohio Department of Health, Office of Vital Statistics. The records older than fifty years may be sent to the Ohio Historical Society for archival. They provide a free online index.

Microfilms of the death certificates held by the Ohio Historical Society are available at the FamilySearch Records site.

They may be ordered through the nearest Family History Center.
