The town of Lindsay had a mayor from its incorporation in July 1857 to its amalgamation into the City of Kawartha Lakes in January 2001. In recognition of the fact that Lindsay cannot again have a mayor, Lois Magahay undertook to research and publish a history of all 50 mayors. The mayors are indexed alphabetically from Samuel Alcorn to Dr. John Wilson Wood and their biographies are presented in order of their term beginning with with Robert Lang and ending with Arthur "Art" Donald Truax. The 140 pages of biographies are documented using newspaper articles, photos and genealogy of their descendants where ever possible. Individuals other than the mayors are not indexed.
