These are indexes of the 1841 census (the first Scottish census where names of all inhabitants were recorded. Adult ages (those above 15) were rounded to the nearest five years, inhabitants born out of the county had to state country of birth. (England was considered out of country.) Addresses and occupations are given. Because they are alphabetical indexes, family groups do not necessarily stay together.
