Usage Tips

There are three versions of this manuscript on microfilm. The original documents of the Congregational Church were transcribed by B Lake Noyes. They were held (in 1906?) by Frank Augustus Gross of Deer Isle. The microfilm may be ordered through the nearest Family History Center. Includes:

  • minutes of meetings;
  • baptisms 1785-1853;
  • marriages 1785-1818,
  • and several newspaper clippings.

B. L. Noyes prepared an index to the first volume of these records, omitting baptisms. The microfilm of the index can be found at Source:Deer Isle, Hancock, Maine, United States. Index to Subject Matter (Context) in First Volume of the Records of the First "Congo" Church of Deer Island,.
