Usage Tips

This RootsWeb-hosted site is primarily a personal family tree for Chris Korte and Katherine Wallace of New Zealand. The database includes 12,800 individuals as of July, 2009. Most are from New Zealand (and descended from immigrants from England, Scotland, and Germany). The most common surnames in the tree are Spurdle, Wallace, Duxfield, Rushbrooke, Harford, and Watkins. Includes family photos and a page of sources, although much of the RootsWeb tree does not provide specific citations, according to Chris Korte. Site also includes some transcriptions of (fascinating) news articles, including the first "rational dress" wedding in New Zealand in 1894 (where the women wore knickerbockers).
