The Norfolk Historical Society interprets and preserves the history of Norfolk, a Virginia seaport city chartered in 1682. The Society collects, preserves, and makes available to the public objects and records relating to Norfolk's history. Selected artifacts and essays are available online, as well as the complete text of George Holbert Tucker's book Norfolk Highlights 1584 - 1881, originally commissioned and published by the society in 1972.
