Portal:Puritan Great Migration

Puritan Great Migration

New England Historical & Genealogy Society defines the Great Migration as beginning with the Mayflower and going through 1640. This two-decade period saw an exodus of Puritans out of England, including over 20,000 who emigrated to New England. These immigrants form the roots of a large segment of early North American families.

The Great Migration Ships List is both a featured "Great Migration" page as well as a great way to contribute time and energy to WeRelate. This in-progress project seeks to document all the ships and their passengers that brought Puritans to (mostly) New England between 1620 and 1640. Check it out and volunteer if you can.
