Yateley is a suburban town and civil parish in the English county of Hampshire. It lies in the northeastern corner of the Hart District Council area. It includes the settlements of Frogmore and Darby Green to the east. It had a population of 21,011 at the 2001 UK census.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Yateley from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"YATELEY, a village and a parish in the [registration] district of Farnborough, and county of Southampton. The village stands 2½ miles WNW of Blackwater [railway] station, and 5¼ S of Wokingham; and has a post-office under Farnborough Station. The parish contains three tythings, and comprises 10,036 acres. Real property: £8,040. Population in 1851: 2,156; in 1861: 2,808. Houses: 554. The increase of population arose from vicinity to Aldershot camp. The property is subdivided. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Winchester. Value: £72. Patron: St. Cross Hospital. The church is modern. The [perpetual] curacies of Cove and Hawley are separate benefices. There are a Baptist chapel, a national school, and charities £75."

Cove and Hawley were originally both chapelries of Yateley parish and they both became a separate civil parishes in 1868. The third tything or chapelry mentioned by Wilson is Yateley itself.
