Wilson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 42,918. Its county seat is Floresville. The county is named after James Charles Wilson.
The Connallys -- John Connally, a Texas governor and U.S. Secretary of the Navy and U.S. Treasury Secretary; Wayne Connally, a member of both houses of the Texas State Legislature, and Merrill Connally, an actor and a county judge—were all born and reared in Wilson County. Another native of Wilson County was the famed Texas Ranger Frank Hamer.
Wilson County is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area.
