Washington County is a county located in the state of Ohio.
According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 61,778, which is a decrease of 2.3% from 63,251 in 2000. Its county seat is Marietta. The county, the oldest in the state, is named for George Washington. Washington County is included in the Parkersburg-Marietta-Vienna, West Virginia-Ohio Metropolitan Statistical Area.
