Washington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 21,704 in the 2010 census, an increase from 20,670 in the 2000 census.[1][2] It is one of the two counties that make up the Iowa City, Iowa Metropolitan Statistical Area. The county seat is Washington.
