A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Thrigby from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"THRIGBY, a parish in Flegg [registration] district, Norfolk; 5 miles WNW of Yarmouth [railway] station. Post town: Stokesby, under Norwich. Acres: 575. Real property: £1,349. Population: 45. Houses: 10. The manor belongs to T. Browne, Esq. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich. Value: £212. Patron: T. Browne, Esq. The church is ancient."

Thrigby was a small ancient parish and civil parish originally in East Flegg Hundred in Norfolk and from 1894 until 1935 in East and West Flegg Rural District. In 1935 the civil parish was abolished and the land and its inhabitants were absorbed into the parish of Mautby. The area has been, since 1974, part of the Great Yarmouth District.
