Swarraton is a small village in the Winchester District or City of Winchester of Hampshire. It lies three miles (5 km) from New Alresford covers an acreage of 755 acres (3.06 km2). Its nearest railway station is in New Alresford, on the Mid-Hants section of the London and South Western Railway.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Swarraton from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"SWARRATON, a parish in Alresford [registration] district, Hants; 3 miles NNW of Alresford [railway] station. Post town: Alresford. Acres: 743. Real property: £892. Population: 100. Houses: 22. The Grange is the seat of Lord Ashburton. The living is a rectory, united with Northington, in the diocese of Winchester. Value: £110. Patron: Lord Ashburton."

Swarraton was abolished when the parish was absorbed into the neighbouring parish of Northington in 1932, but following the advent of Winchester District in 1974 the larger parish was renamed Northington and Swarraton.
