John Marius Wilson, in his Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales (1870-72) notes "the tract of Kingsmark, sometimes deemed extra-parochial" in his description of the parish of St. Arvans in Monmouthshire. St. Kingsmark is extremely small but is found on the Ordnance Survey map of Monmouthshire for 1900 located between Chepstow and St. Arvans. In Wikipedia it is stated that St. Arvans parish church belonged to the small priory of St. Kingsmark or Cynmarch by 1254.

In 1920 it was absorbed into St. Arvans.
