St. Albans St. Michael's is one of the four ecclesiastical parishes which make up the town of St. Albans (along with St Albans Abbey, St. Albans St. Peter's and St. Albans St. Stephen). The modern civil parish comprises only the rural part of the historic parish, which lies to the northwest of the town of St Albans and is known as St. Michael Rural Parish. The historic core of St. Michael's parish lies along St. Michael's Street and Fishpool Street in St Albans. The parish church of St. Michael is believed to stand on the site of the forum of the earlier Roman town of Verulamium.
