Today Spessart is a "consituent community" located in Ettlingen (municipality), Karlsruhe (district), Baden-Württemberg (state), Germany.
History - Spessart was joined together with other independent villages (Bruchhausen, Ettlingenweier, Oberweier, Schluttenbach, and Schöllbronn) and the town of Ettlingen to form the municipality of Ettlingen during the major communal reforms enacted by the German state of Baden-Württemberg in the early 1970s.
