Soyland is now a village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Soyland from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "SOYLAND, a township, with [Soyland] village, and part of Ripponden village, in Halifax parish, [West Riding of] Yorkshire; 4½ miles SW of Halifax. Acres: 4,960. Real property: £11,304. Population: 3,373. Houses: 667. Part of the land is mountainous. There are several cotton mills, a large silk mill, the church at Ripponden, two dissenting chapels, and a national school."
Soyland was an urban district from 1894 to 1937 when it was abolished to create Ripponden Urban District. Its ecclesiastical parish was Halifax and the area was part of the Morley-division of the wapentake of Agbrigg and Morley.
