Southport is a town in Chemung County, New York, United States. The population was 10,940 at the 2010 census.

The Town of Southport is located in the southwest corner of Chemung County and is southwest of the City of Elmira. It is part of the 'Elmira, New York Metropolitan Statistical Area'.

The town was first settled around 1788. The Town of Southport was formed from the Town of Elmira in 1822. In 1867, an eastern section of the town was used to form part of the new Town of Ashland.
