South Molton Hundred is now covered by the North Devon District, and was landlocked by Shirwell and Braunton Hundreds. It is #25 on the map.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following statistics on South Molton Hundred from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "MOLTON (SOUTH), a town, a parish, a [registration] sub-district, a [registration] district, and a hundred, in Devon. The town stands on rising ground, on the right bank of the river Mole, 8¼ miles NNE of South Molton-Road [railway] station, and 11½ ESE of Barnstaple. South Molton hundred contains fourteen parishes. Acres: 63.310. Population in 1851: 9,770; in 1861: 9,092. Houses: 1,844."
